This assignment will give us some work with excel and using data sets to produce graphs and describing the data. You will want to use Excel to develop the information that needs to be presented. Make sure that you have labeled each part of your response. The appendix discusses the use of the Pivot table and I have posted examples for this type of data. The videos under the Cengage tab discusses the use of countif excel function and you could use a check sheet or other method to count the data elements. The goal is to learn a tool that works with a small amount or large amount of data.

Problem 1- Fifty randomly selected adults who follow professional sports were asked to name their favorite professional sports league. The results are as follows where MLB Major League Baseball, MLS Major League Soccer, NBA National Basketball Association, NFL National Football League, and NHL National Hockey League.

1. You will need to find the totals for each sport. You can use various ways to count the data, or you can prepare it using Excel and Pivot tables. The use of these are explained in the text and in the posted Videos.
2. Prepare frequency distribution including the relative frequency and cumulative Frequency for this data.
3. Construct a frequency bar chart for these data elements.
4. Construct a pie chart for these data elements.
5. Which professional sports league is most popular with these 50 adults? Which is least popular? Which chart do you prefer and why?

First prepare the frequency table. Note that the count should be 50 and each of the percent columns should total 100%. These are easy ways to make sure you have all the data and you have set up the table correctly.

Problem 2- In Middlesex County there are 25 Pizza Restaurants. For his set of data you should prepare a Column Chart and Frequency Distribution (Count, relative frequency and Cumulative Frequency) and respond the following questions. I have attached the data file above.

1. Which restaurant is the most popular?
2. Pizza Hut and Domino's make up what percent of the total?
3. Show the Column Chart and Frequency Distribution (include relative frequency) for this data
