Choose one of the following scenarios. Use (The 7-steps to solving problems in workspace) methodology, then make a presentation of 5-7 slides to feature steps in the problem solving process.

Scenario #1

You are a supervisor of several people, but there are two people in particular who do excellent work. A team leader has recently left the company, so you need to promote one of your employees. Both of your exemplary employees are excellent, but one states his/her opinion freely in discussions and worked overtime. Co-workers seem to like him/her. The other employee started work in the same day but has kept more to him/herself by concentrating on his/her part of the job while still trying to learn from others and listening to situation before jumping in with suggestions. Which employee would you promote into the team leader position, and how would you announce it without hurting your other employees feelings.

Scenario #2

Saif has been writing business reports for his boss at a medium sized company. The boss signs his name to the reports and gives Saif zero credit. The boss treated Saif well in all other ways. Saif is increasingly upset about not getting credit but wonders if he just need to be content with this current situation. What should Saif do?

Scenario #3

Huda is doing the work of a co-worker that was a friend. However, her co-worker was recently fired (sacked). Huda has a lot of questions about the job and could ask her friend for advice. Huda wants to have coffee or tea with her friend and ask advice but is not sure how to do this. Huda also thinks such a meeting might insult her friend by reminding her of the job she no longer has, or the company may be unhappy with Huda for meeting with former employee. What should Huda do?
