Question 1 (25 marks - Answer all parts of this question) The process stream data for a chemical process are given in Table 1.1. The minimum approach temperature (ATmin) is 40 C. The minimum hot utility requirement for the process, QHmin, is 0 kW, and the minimum cold utility requirement, Qcmin, is 1950 kW. a. Using the data provided in Table 1.1, and the Problem Table algorithm, confirm that both the hot utility and cold utility requirements for the process at the given ATmin are as provided. Show all of your working. [18 marks] b. What would be the expected heat recovery at the ATmin of 40 C for this process (kW)? [3 marks] c. In this process a large amount of heat is available below 260 C. It has been decided to use this heat to generate steam. Provide a brief explanation of how this steam generation would be integrated into the Heat Exchanger Design methodology.
