Question 1
Based on your prior travel experience in and out of NZ, preparing a system flowchart to show the boarder control process based on your understanding. This flowchart should start with passengers arriving to NZ on an international flight (at Auckland Airport), and finish once they leave the airport, either by car or by public transport.
Please take note of the two mandatory legal requirements:
- All passengers must clear Immigration and Passport Control (IPC) by presenting their passport to an immigration officer to determine their eligibility to entering NZ.
- All passengers must clear Customs through the Import Entry Clearance (IEC) Process. In this process, all passengers must declare whether they are importing any restricted products.
For students who have never travelled internationally, please state so at the top of your flowchart, and complete the flowchart based on your imagined process. You may state any assumptions that you have made as to the process of arriving in NZ, if needed.
Requirement:
Draw a system flowchart (a few standard flowchart symbols can be found at the end of this Test Booklet) on no more than one side of one A4 paper by following the flowchart symbols and conventions presented in week 3.
