Question 1: Create a Data Flow Diagram (DFD) model based on the below information given for registrar office process. Decomposition of top level context upto one or two levels into their corresponding functional primitives. Display the decomposition procedure clearly step by step. Number the order of the decomposition procedure.

  1. System Description: Enroll an existing student in a seminar for which she is eligible.
  2. Pre-conditions - The Student is registered at the University.
  3. Post-conditions - The Student will be enrolled in the course she wants if she is eligible and room is available.
  4. Basic Course of Action:

a. Student inputs her information in a form and give it to registrar

b. Registrar verifies the student is eligible to enroll in seminars, according to the student record. If not eligible then student is informed and use case ends.

c. Registrar asks student which seminar she would like to enroll in, with course catalog if necessary. Student chooses a seminar.

d. If the seminar still has room for students, registrar calculates fees and bills student for it.

e. Receiving the payment, the registrar enrolls the student in the seminar and writes enrollment receipt.

Question 2: Based on the above created DFD models, build the PFD (Process flow diagram) model to show the primitive processes, decompose the DFD primitives further if necessary (Make use general flowchart notations).
