Dan works at a Small food packaging company in South Africa called FMG. The IT department is small and in-house. As it is a small business the company only has 1 Physical Server that runs 5 VMs on Hyper V.(See below for Server list). The company has branches across the country but the main office is based in Durban. For employees to connect to the server a VPN has been set up using Microtek Router/ Firewalls. Due to Covid more employees have started to work from home and this is causing the network to slow down and increasing the vulnerablity of the network to outside threats. The ERP system runs on its own network separate to the internet with only direct outbound connections allowed for emails. The EDI server connects to the internet and then pushs the e-orders to the ERP server to keep it separate. The users use a mix of machines that range from old Intel Pentiums to newer i7s. Min Spec is 2Gb RAM and 500Gb HDD.
