For the year 2019, he has given the following benefits: a Holiday ticket to Tokyo, costing RM4,100 on 27 December 2019 b. Holiday tickets to the following destinations, Langkawi RM320 Tioman RM270 Kuching RM790 Labuan RM1,340 Required: Calculate the amount of benefits assessable on him under 5.13(2)(b) for the YA 2019, Question 2 Ray worked as a senior manager for MEGA Sdn Bhd (MEGA) for 12 years, then resigned from his job on 30 September 2019. Details of Ray employment income for YA 2019 are as follows: A monthly net salary of RM30,000 after deducting monthly tax deductions of RM1,000 and 11% of employees' provident fund (EPF) A bonus equal to one month's gross salary Reimbursement received from MEGA for: . a. Taxi fares for business trips to clients and suppliers totalling RM4,600 for the year b. Medical expenses claims for the year totalling RM 1,200 iv. A watch costing RM10,000 being awarded to him for being MEGA's service excellence award v. A fully furnished accommodation for which MEGA paid a monthly rental of RM5,500 including RM500 for furnishings. Ray was required to pay MEGA RM450 per month towards the cost of this accommodation vi Ray is required to entertain company clients and is provided with a corporate membership at a local golf club for this purpose. The total entrance fee and monthly subscription paid by MEGA on Ray's behalf in 2019 were RM6,000 and RM400 respectively vii. An overseas leave passage costing RM4,200 and the hotel and related expenditure for Ray's family amounting to RM4,580, vii. Cost of a new personal computer given to Ray by his employer of RM3,500 i Broadband subscription fee paid by his employer amounting to RM700 (bill in the name of the employer and paid by the employer) x Utility bills paid by employer of RM720 (bills in the name of employee) In year 2019, he made a withdrawal from an unapproved fund of RM50,000. 80% of the amount withdrawn is from his contribution 1 Xi Medical expense of RM900 for his wifepaid by the company in 2019 Xm. On 1 January 2019, Ray received an offer to purchase 10,000 shares at RM3.50 each when the market value was AMS per share Ray exercised the option on 1 July 2019 when the share price per unit rose to RM6 per share. XV. Upon his resignation, MEGA has given Ray a gratuity amounting to RM200,000 as a token of appreciation on this contribution for the past 12 years.
