QUESTION 1 Getah Enterprise is a company producing tables from rubber tree. It has been established ten years ago with local designers. Currently the company has three types of workers: skilled, semi- skilled and unskilled workers. The other information details are as follows: Skill workers Workers are paid based on hourly basis at RM12 per hour. Currently, the normal working hours per week is 40 hours from Monday to Friday. Overtime is paid at a time and half for the first 5 hours and double for remaining of the normal hourly rate. Semi-skill workers Workers are paid based on differential piecework basis with guaranteed minimum wage of RM400 per week. The differential piecework rate as follows: (Defective units will not be paid by the company) Units 0-50 51-100 101-200 Rate (RM) 1.50 1.80 2.00 2.20 . Unskilled workers 201 and above Workers are paid based on straight piece rate system with guaranteed minimum wage of RM300 per week. The standard rate per unit is RM1.20 on only good units produced.
