The dearness allowance is payable to all workers irrespectiv. of wages rate if they are present or are on leave with wages on all working days. Sunday is i. weekly holiday and each worker has to work for 8 hours on all week days and 4 hours on a 'urdays; the workers are however paid full wages for Saturday (8 hours for 4 hours workco). Workers are paid overtime according to the Factories Act, 1948. Excluding holidays, the total number of hours works out to 176 in the relevant month. The company's contribution to Provident Fund and Employees State Insurance Premium are absorbed into overheads. Work out the wages payable to each worker.
