Project communications include several means and modes of communication: meetings, reports, web conferences, phone calls, web-based reporting (like dashboards), etc.

1. Provide an example of the innovative use of technology in promoting communication excellence in a project (or program), preferably one in your organization.

2. Explain how technology can be used to change behavior and culture in an organization, providing a specific example if possible.

3. What technology recommendations would you have for your own organization, and how might those recommendations change (if at all) if your organization is globally dispersed and/or working remotely?

Question 2

Stakeholder management can often consume much of a project manager's time and attention, especially if there are many stakeholders with opposing interests in the project.

1. Based on your observations/experiences and/or based on your readings and research, explain some common challenges encountered when managing stakeholders, and how these challenges would be compounded (if at all) in a project whose team is globally dispersed and/or working remotely?

2. Pick the top two or three of the challenges you identified in #1 above, and recommend how they could be addressed. Do you think some of the Stakeholder Management tools and techniques in the PMBOK Guide (Sixth Edition) could prove useful in addressing these challenges? Why or why not?

3. What are the key skills a project manager would need to address the challenges you identified in #1 above and how can those skills be acquired, developed, and honed?
