Figure Q1 shows one 'L' shaped beam ACD which is built-in at one end. It is loaded with load F-3 kN and with load P= 2.8kN at its free end D. The beam has solid round cross-section with diameter of 100 mm. The beam is made of steel with E=210 GPa and v=0.3. By disregarding the shear stress due to shear load and using point A as the critical point to be analyzed. i) ii) iii) Calculate the respective stresses values and draw the stress element at point A in the x-y direction. Calculate and draw the principal stress element. Calculate and draw the maximum shear stress element.
