Question 1 transcript 25 pts Please write a short explanation of the Big Bang Theory. Approach this as if you were explaining the Big Bang to a friend or family member. How would you explain it to them in your own words? Include an analogy to help explain the process. Points you need to address: What is the Big Bang and how long ago did it occur? What was the Universe like before the Big Bang? (Do we know?) What happened after the Big Bang? (i.e. how did the temperature and volume change over time?) What elements were created shortly after the Big Bang? (i.e. before the formation of the first stars) Finally, challenge yourself to come up with an analogy to help explain either the Big Bang or the expanding universe theory. Try to come up with something different from the raisin bread analogy described in the textbook. These topics have been covered in the textbook and are summarized in the lecture. Remember, you want to explain it as if you were talking to a person unfamiliar with the concepts. I highly doubt you would pull out your phone and start reading the Wikipedia page to them... Lastly, keep it simple. No need to discuss anything we didn't cover in the lecture (for instance, no need to discuss the Epochs).
