The NEI Report of Valley High School revealed that the 50% of the staff are teachers fresh out of Teacher's College that lacked the requisite experience to deal with the disruptive and disrespectful behaviors of the students. 80% of the students in the school are reading below their reading level and seemingly have attention deficit syndrome. The other 30% of the staff have over 40 years of experience but will be retiring within the next one or two years. The final 20% of the staff have been at the institution for the past 3 years and have been effective in getting and maintaining their students interest therefore have seen some level of success in their classes.

The Top Achievers Primary School is located in the heart of the North Side Community. The Community is plagued with ongoing violence which creates an atmosphere of fear and unease for residents and other critical stakeholders associated with the institution. This causing a declining student population and mastery of grade level rates which have been below 10% for the student cohort over recent years. Additionally, it has been revealed that morale of the teachers is low and requires urgent attention.

The Board of Management commissioned an independent assessment of the school to better understand the issues affecting the school. The Report of the Consultant has unearthed such issues:High levels of interpersonal conflict and low motivation among staff;High rates of absenteeism and consistent unpunctuality among staff and students;Lack of respect for the welfare of ancillary workers;Lack of clear strategies to improve literacy, numeracy skills and promoting interests in curriculum at all grade levels;Lack of accountability and prudent management of the school's finances;Low parental involvement in school life and students' academic performance; andPoor working relationship with the Board of Management.
