The agreed contract price is $50,000, consisting of a deposit of $10,000 payable on 1 May 2022, and $40,000 payable on completion of the contract. Ashley duly pays the deposit of $10,000. The market rate for such rental is $30,000, but Natalie is under the mistaken assumption that the market rate is $60,000. To prepare for the contract, Mona spends $10,000 in decorating the ofce premises for the specic purpose of Viewing the parade. On the other hand, Ashley spends $5,000 in getting new nails polished, a new hairdo, and purchasing a new dress for the occasion. Advise the parties in each of the following alternative scenarios as to their rights and obligations under the contract, and the availability of restitutionary remedies:- Scenario 1 On 20 May 2022, the Government announced that all of Hong Kong will be lockdown for 3 months, and The Queen's Birthday Parade is cancelled.
