Question 2(10 Marks)
An Oil Producer plan to be completed at 7000ft has fluid characterizations as follows.
GLR 500scf/STB
Gas gravity 0.65
API 35deg,
Average flowing temperature 140degF
Construct inflow performance relationship curve using standing model using well test data in from Table 1 and assume static reservoir pressure of 1900psia. (4 marks)
\table[[Test number,Flowing bottom pressure (Psia),Flow rate (BPD)],[1,1000,1200]]
Construct the Vertical lift performance using flowrate Q [500,1000 and 1500] and recommend the optimised production rate. Assume 200psi tubing pressure for 2.5in tubing (2 marks)
Also construct the Vertical lift performance using flowrate Q [1000,2000 and 3000] and recommend the optimised production rate. Assume 200psi tubing pressure for 4.0in tubing (2 marks)
Solution
Step 1- Calculate productivity index (J) and Jp*
(2 mark)
Step 2- Calculate the corresponding flowrate for assumed Pwf
(2 marks)
\table[[Pwf ?wfsi,Q (bbls)],[1900,],[1500,],[1200,],[1000,],[500,],[0,]]
Step 3- Plot the corresponding points on the graph paper
(2 marks)
Step 4- Calculate the corresponding Pwf for assumed flowrate for tubing sizes and plot the values in the same graph paper (4 marks)
