During the course of early March 2020, the accountant of Bloomingdale Attorneys received the firms bank statement for February 2020. The bank statement received from FS Bank on 28 February 2020 showed an overdraft (unfavourable balance) of R6420 1. The accounting records reflected an unfavourable opening balance of R25 436 in the Bank General Ledger (T-Account) on 1 February 2020. 2. Interest of R 1 080 charged by the bank for February has not been recorded in the cash book. 3. Trust and business account bank charges of R 758 and R 495 respectively have not been recorded in the cash book 4. Debit order of R1851 have not been recorded in the cash book account 5. The following cheques were outstanding and had not been presented for payment at the Bank: . Cheque 148 R 2 000 Cheque 139 R 8 250 6. It was noted that a cheque 125 that was prepared by us for R3 000 was dated 10 July and is thus stale. 7. A deposit made by the clerk of R6 620 is not yet reflecting on the bank statement. 8. A Cheque payment drawn on the trust bank account of R 990 appears in the bank statement of the business bank account. 9. An unpaid cheque from a client has been returned by the bank marked as a dishonoured cheque. The client had insufficient funds in their account 10. A trust deposit of R 11 400 has been incorrectly reflected in the bank statement. 11. A direct EFT deposit of R12 000 was reflecting in the business bank account statement. 12.
