Question 2: Test the effect of respondents' political orientation (Q4.9) on their attribute/performance ratings of the Nike brand (Q3.1) We test the effect of the respondents' political orientation on the attribute/performance ratings by utilising one-way Analysis of variance (ANOVA) to study the implications. Firstly, we imported the cleaned-up data to JASP software. We selected performance attributes as the dependent variable while political orientation as the fixed variable as we want to find out the effect of their performance ratings with political orientation as constant. In total, there are 602 respondents who provided valid answers for the both questions (no NA indicated). There are 155 respondents who are neutral in their political orientation. while a higher majority who indicated left in their political orientation. From the results, the standard deviation between each scaled option for political orientation falls between 1 to 2. It means that the dispersion around the mean results is equally distributed. Following which, we created two hypotheses for our test: HO (null hypothesis) - Political orientation does not influence attributes/performance ratings of the Nike brand
