Question 2: The ScanNet Company manufactures two household products: Blenders and toasters. Both products go through the assembly and packaging department. Each blender takes 3 hours of assembly and 2 hours of packaging. Each toaster must go through 2 hours of assembly and 1 hour of packaging. During the next production period, 240 hours of assembly time are available, and up to 140 hours of packaging time may be used. Each blender sold yields a profit of $25. Each toaster may be sold for a $15 profit. Formulate and solve this LP production mix situation to find the best combination of blenders and toasters that yields the highest profit. Use Excel solver tool to solve this LP problem. Your HW submission must include the following: (i) (ii) (iii) (iv) Draw a table similar to Table 7.2 on page 240 Write an LP mathematical expression for ScanNet Company by defining the objective function and the constraints. Solve the objective function, i.e., identify the maximum profit in dollar amount for ScanNet Company. Bonus question: This bonus question is not required but answer this question if you want bonus point worth 2 points only: Graphical method - plot points on a graph, similar to Figure 7.5, for the ScanNet Company using (or solving) the two constraints. Note 1: If you attempt this bonus question, use Excel to plot your graph (NO images or pictures or screenshots). Note 2: If your graph is not shaded and have points as seen in Figure 7.5, will not get any bonus points (2 points).
