QUESTION 2 The table below presents the scores of 15 large Canadian cities on three variables. Compute the r and r statistics for each combination of the three variables. Assuming that these 15 cities are a random sample of Canada's 50 largest cities, test the correlations for their statistical significance (0.05 level). For those correlations that are statistically significant, generate the regression equations and associated SEE values. Make sure to write concluding statements from what your found. Make sure to follow the hypothesis testing approach, as outlined in lecture. STEPS: a) Computer all relevant descriptive statistics. b) Write the hypotheses for each combination of variables (non-directional, 0.05 Type I error rate)....Hint, there are 3 combinations. c) Calculate the relevant Pearson correlation coefficients......you can calculate the r-value by hand, but must use MS EXCEL for the preceding calculations. d) Use the Pearson table to evaluate statistical significance. e ) For the significant correlations, compute the r2 values, the regression equation, and the associated SEE. In a short paragraph (double-spaced, approximately one-half page), write your conclusions to the study.
