The recovery schedule is an alternative schedule for the remaining part of the project that can let the project make up for the lost time and finish on time. The remaining works are 4 consecutive work packages A, B, C and D. Your options for each activity is any action or any combination of the following actions: work overtime hours, employ additional labor, or work night shifts. Each action can be fully implemented or partially implemented, as long as it does not exceed the limits listed in the table. The following table summarizes the cost and application modes of each. Overtime hours Activity Limits Output Cost Limits Additional crew Output Cost A 1 Limits 2 nights Night shift Output Cost additional overtime Each 8 B A max overtime of 4 hours result in C hours per day a 1 day duration D crew 1 Each additional Each 2 100$ per overtime crew additional crew results in 1,000 Not an option night 500$ shifts per $ per result in a night hour reduction Not an option 2 3 days crew 2 nights 1 day shift duration duration reduction Not an reduction additional option crews To find the least costly recovery plan that can reduce the remaining duration by 13 days, you are required to: a) formulate the problem (on paper) to be solved using Linear Programming and b) solve the problem using Simplex through the built in Excel solver
