Betty put on a load of washing and then went shopping. On her return the house was ablaze and she was told by the remen that the washing machine had caught re. a) Advise Betty whether she can use the provisions of the Australian Consumer Law (AOL) to successfully sue the supplier for the damage to her house. Explain the legal principles and cases. b) Would using the provisions of the ACL be better than an action in negligence and if so, why? c) If the manufacturer cannot be propedy located does Betty have a claim against any other party? d) What type of evidence would Betty require to be successful in her claim against the manufacturer?
