Statement by Rose Gordon

My name is Rose Gordon. I am 28 years old and a teacher at Mervin Boys High. I am married with two children. On my way to school on 12 May 2020 I was involved in an accident. I was driving on the N3 towards Sandton when a car with registration GP 500 ABC, a blue Corolla, skipped a red robot and collided with me. I drove a white Nissan with registration number GP 141 CTG. The collision happened in the intersection of Main and Troy Street. I just heard a loud bang, and everything went black. The driver of the other car is Mr James Frey.

I woke up two days later in the Netcare clinic in Sandton. My car was damaged beyond repair.

I stayed in hospital for two weeks and sustained the following injuries: A broken leg, 2 broken ribs, a fractured arm and a tear to my spleen.

I had three surgeries: One of them to repair the injury to my spleen. A pin was also inserted in my leg. I did report the incident to the police and a case of reckless driving was opened. I battle to walk, and I am in constant pain. At this time, I am unable to teach as I cannot stand or move easily as my mobility is severely compromised. I will run out of paid leave by the end of this month and then I will have no income until I go back to work in four months' time. I cannot drive and must pay a friend to take my children to school. I also ran out of medical cover and must

pay cash for my tablets. Because of my injuries I am confined to my house.

My life has been ruined by the accident. I want to sue!!!!

Before you start drafting the plea, provide a short step-by-step indication of how you intended compiling the plea.
