RUPERT manufactures the custom engines for vintage cars on a contract basis and recognises contract revenue based on the percentage of completion method. RUPERT has consequently decided to treat the lease as a finance lease. The residual value of the truck is expected to be 10% of the cost price after five years and RUPERT's accounting policy stipulates that depreciation should be calculated using the diminishing balance method with an acceleration factor of 150%. 4. Other operating expenses for the 2015 financial year amounted to R2 775 000 and is expected to increase by inflation of 7% per annum. 5. RUPERT issued five year convertible bonds on 1 January 2015 with a face value of R12 000 000 and a coupon interest rate of 12%. The first payment of the five equal annual payments will commence on 31 December 2015. The bonds are convertible into 1 200 000 ordinary shares of RUPERT at any time or redeemable at the face value on 31 December 2019. At 31 December 2016 none of these bonds have been converted.
