3.1 Gretchen works at the local Traffic Department. Gretchen sells drivers licences to the public, which is not allowed. Nick pays the agreed purchase price of R2 500 in cash to Gretchen. Subsequently Gretchen refuses to deliver a drivers licence to Nick.

3.2 A holds a pistol to B's head and threatens to kill him should he not sell his house to A. B agrees and the contract of sale is signed by both parties.

3.3 Susan who is a divorced 17-year-old, concludes an oral contract in terms of which she buys a house from Steven, a thirty-five-year old man, for R2 million. The pair met over breakfast where they orally discussed the contract. Pursuant to the oral agreement, Susan transferred the money whereupon Steven gave her the keys.

3.4 Romeo enters into an agreement with Simo in terms of which they agreed that that Romeo will sell his BMW to Simo for R60 000. Unbeknown to both of them, the BMW has been completely destroyed the night before in a fire.

3.5 Simon, an emancipated 16-year-old, sells his computer to Lynn, a 20-year-old woman, for R1 500 without the consent of his guardian.
