Both products are made in batches - large batches (1,000 units) for the Economy and small batches ( 100 units) for the Premium. Further details of the two products are as follows: An analysis of the company's overhead costs has provided the following information: In the past the company has used a traditional absorption costing approach (based on a direct labour hour rate) to absorb overheads into units of output, but is now considering the introduction of an activity-based costing approach instead. Required 3.1) Calculate the full cost per unit for both the Economy and the Premium using: (i) the traditional absorption costing approach used by the company; (ii) an activity-based costing approach. (Round the answers to two decimal places)
