Question 4 . 1 0 , 0 0 0 k g h r of 3 5 A P I light oil stream at 1 7

Question 4.10,000kghr of 35API light oil stream at 170C will be used to heat 45,000kghr of naphta from 97C to 110C. The available data on physical properties of the streams:
35API light oil: Cp=2.42kJkg*K,k=13510-3Wm.K, at 38C=5cP, at 99C=2.3cP.
Naphta: Cp=2.34kJkg.K,k=17510-3Wm.K, at 38C=1.3cP, at 99C=0.54cP.
A combined dirt factor of 110-3m2.KW is allowed. The exchanger available for the service has the following specifications:
Shell side (hot fluid)
Tube side (cold fluid)
ID: 1714 in
Number and length: 166,16ft
Baffle space: 3.5 in
Passes: 1
OD, BWG, pitch: 14 in,16 BWG,1 in square
Passes: 2
The allowed pressure drop for both tube and shell side is 0.7atm. Find if the available heat exchanger is suitable for the service.
