QUESTION 4 i- Cassia Pharma Sdn Bhd manufactures ointment for medical purposes. David, a consumer of Cassia Pharma's ointment fell ill after consuming the ointment over a long period of time. He needed medical attention and had to undertake unpaid leave from his employer as he had utilised the maximum medical leaves that he entitled to. David sued Cassia Pharma for RM250,000 for pain caused by consuming the ointment and unpaid leave from work. Cassia Pharma made a provision for liability of RM50,000. The court case was pending at the end of the year. A month after the financial year-end but before the financial statements were authorized for issue, the case came to court and the judgement was in favour of David. A piece of freehold land was acquired on 1 July 2020. The acquisition price of the land was RM1,600,000. Revaluation model is adopted for land. The fair value of the land at the year end was RM1,800,000.
