Question 4. While touring Australia on a motorbike, Dutch backpacker Hans Brown purchased an emergency tyre repair kit from a shop in Geelong run by Harriet Smith, who knew Hans wanted the kit for his motorbike. The kit was imported from China and contained a warning in large letters that the manufacturer, importer and retailer of the product would not be liable for any loss or damage. A month later in the outback, Hans had to use the repair kit. On the way to the next town, the tyre blew out, causing him to crash and lose the use of his left arm.
