On March 31, 2014 there was an industrial accident that caused damage to some of Teeda's plant. The assets of Tecda immediately before the accident were: Goodwill Patent Factory Building Plant Receivables and cash S000 1,800 1,200 4,000 3,500 1,500 As a result of the accident the recoverable amount of Teeda is $6.7 m. The accident destroyed an item of the plant which can no longer be used, it had a carrying amount of $500,000. Teeda has an offer from a competitor of Sim for its patent. The receivables and cash are already stated at their fair value less cost to sell ( net relizable value) Required: Calculate the carrying amount of the asset at year end March 31, 2014 after applying any impairment losses
