Question B (14 marks) According to the United Nations the sustainability of oceans is under severe threat from pollution, and its effect on marine ecosystems via the process of eutrophication. Eutrophication causes excessive growth of plants and algae. affecting light and oxygen levels in oceans which further harms marine ecosystems. Data from 50 randomly selected countries was collected and a 2way table, showing the country counts for pollution [Beach_Litter_Cat] and eutrophication {Green_Shade_Cat} categories has been provided below. Each variable has 4 categories resembling quartile cutoff values. The table is also provided in the QuestionB.xlsx file. Green_Shade_Cat Beach_Litter_Cat Pale Ught Medium Dark Low 4 0 4 3 Moderate 7 5 2 3 High 2 4 3 2 Extreme 1 4 'l 5 Use the table, Excel data, and any other information provided, to answer the following questions. [a] [1 mark} The sample proportion of countries with a High Beach_Litter_Cat category and Medium Green_Shade_Cat category is equal to (3dp) [b] (1 mark] The sample percentage of countries that are either a LowI or Moderate Beach_Litter_Cat categories is equal to [0dp] 96 (c) (1 mark) The combined number of countries that have Moderate or High Beach_Litter_Cat categories, that also have a Pale Green_Shade_Cat category is equal to (Udp) Research question: For all countries, are all Beach_Litter_Cat categories equal to 25%? Perform an appropriate hypothesis test to address the research question and answer the following questions. (1 mark) The hypothesis test to address the research question is? A v B U I ! SS O 2 marks) In the space below, write down the null and alternative hypotheses for the test. A Y BUI !Y E SS O(1 mark) The assumption for the test is satisfied because... 1 A v B U I Ff E O (3 marks) The test statistic is equal to (1dp) and the number of degrees of freedom is equal to (0dp) (1 mark) The p-value for the test statistic is equal to (3dp) (3 marks) The conclusion for the hypothesis test is that... 1 A v B U I J . E PA
