Question from Boss? "I have read that companies with high employee satisfaction have high financial returns, so I want you to develop an employee engagement measure and hold our unit managers accountable for raising the average employee engagement in each of their units." 

Task? How would one respond? What types of data/metrics/analyses would you need to provide an educated answer? What information is available in the industry and/or in academic research? What, if anything, might be wrong with this logic?
