In Module Four, review the initial posts of at least two of your peers, addressing the following "Stop/Start/Continue" feedback questions: 0 Stop: What are the leadership skills and behaviors the learner has selected that you recommend be stopped, i.e., not pursued? Provide the rationale as to why you believe a leadership skill they have selected may not be the most appropriate focus area based on your review of the employee engagement survey results. If you don't identify any leadership behavior focus area to stop, then how would you suggest one or more of the targeted leadership behavior areas be modified to better address the outcome desired? 0 Start: What leadership skills and behaviors do you recommend the learner add as a focus area? Provide the rationale for your recommendation as well as one to two suggested ways this leadership skill/behavior could be targeted for improvement. - Continue: For the recommendations that the learner has made that you fully agree with, provide commentary as to why you believe the selected leadership skills and behaviors area is appropriate to be addressed. The leadership behaviors that are needed to improve the work environment will vary based on the leader's employee engagements survey. After conducting the Employee Satisfaction survey, I concluded a few more tools where needed in my bag. Keeping existing tools and adding more to your bag will be key to adapting. Employee surveys help the leaders get a feel how their employees feel about all aspects of the job. Implementing performance management systems will give clarity and give employees a better understanding of their roles. An open-door policy is a tool that myself as a leader used in the military. Situations may need to be discussed behind doors to prevent organizational issues. In this case, the focus areas of improvement have been identified as: Working Conditions, Job Satisfaction and Recognition and Praise. To improve work conditions the organization needs to improve the workspace and implement policies that prioritize safety and comfort. Leaders will have to actively listen to employees to get feedback, concerns, and complaints to address the issues. The increase in employee engagement can be achieved by empowering employees and providing opportunities for professional growth. As a leader, it is important to know that employees want to take ownership of their work, which ultimately will increase professional growth and development. Organizations will need to create and implement an employee recognition program to acknowledge the employees' contributions and achievements. Regularly recognizing and rewarding employees builds morale and gives the employees a sense of purpose. \"Embedded in The Five Practices of Exemplary Leadership are behaviors that can serve as the basis for becoming an exemplary leader" (Kouzes, 2021). These behaviors are called \"The Ten Commitments of Exemplary Leadership\". According to Kouzes, Table 1.1 \"The five practices and ten commitments of Exemplary Leadership shows; Model the way, focusing on the values, finding your voice and setting the example; Inspire a shared vision buy envisioning the future and enlisting others in a common vision; Challenge the Process by finding innovative ways to improve and learn from experience; Enable Others To Act features building trust and developing competence and Encourage the heart is the showing of appreciation or individual excellence and celebrating values.\" (Kouzes, 2021) These practices can be used along side of leaders when determining their voice utilizing additional skills as; active listening, emotional intelligence, communication, coaching, decision making and empowerment. The list can go on and on and is universal in which will help improvements and increase organizational performance
