QUESTION: International airlines operate in a very competitive and demanding environment. There are some airlines that operate as cost leaders. In the module we looked at how no frills cost leader airlines like Ryanair have managed to continually increase revenues and profits over the last 15 years. Obviously during the Covid crisis all airlines including Ryanair have suffered badly as there have been restrictions on passengers flying. Discuss how airlines like Ryanair have managed to follow the no frills cost leadership model and been successful. Do you think this model will be successful following the Covid-19 crisis?
