Question: Systems implementations involve a number of processes and activities to make an information system fully operational. The conversion process converts the old system to a new system. There are 4 different ways to conduct the process. For the following 2 unrelated scenarios, identify the best process to be used and why.

i. Potter's Nursery (PN) is a medium-sized flower wholesaler. PN is in the process of converting its manual accounts receivable system to a new computer-based accounts receivable system. The old system had very few errors. Potter's management insists that the new system has to work as well as the old system. Cost is no object to get the system converted properly.

ii. Magnum Auto Parts is a large company that needs to convert its inventory system. The inventory system is very large and it affects 8 different departments and over 500 users. Magnum cannot afford to run the complete new system while at the same time running the old system.
