Markon Ltd is a company located in Athi River and has been in existence for twenty years. It

started as a small company producing jeans for the local market but over the years, it has

diversified and manufactures all types of clothes for both local and export market. The growth of

the company means that a lot of changes have had to be made to ensure that it stays

competitive. The company started as a family business with only with 10 employees, but twenty

years down the line, it has 500 employees who are from different generations, race and gender

to cater for the different customers it serves across the world. The management practices have

changed and the older managers who were mostly family members need to be replaced with

professionals in order to cope with the current changes in the business environment.
