This data was provided on cdc.gov in the National Vital Statistics Reports Vol. 64, No. 8. Fetal mortality is a public health issue that many people don't think about. Every year, more than one million fetal deaths occur in the United States. People working in medicine and research began to observe how many women died before and after giving birth. The majority of fetal deaths occur before 20 weeks of pregnancy, and statistics regarding fetal deaths at 20 weeks or greater is often presented. The data showsan upward and downward tendency, since each state or territory has a high and low frequency of fetal fatalities. The sample size is n=53. My datashowsa sample MEAN of 909.038 fetal deaths, with a maximum of 5,330, a minimum of 57, and a median of 692. My data has a standard deviation of 1011.420. Based on the data, the claim seeks to establish if there is adequate evidence to conclude that the average number of fetal fatalities in a year in the United States and territories is higher than or equal to 20,000 at the 0.05 significance level. We cannot reject the null based on this claim since the p-value is greater than alpha (0.05). At a 0.05 significance level, there is insufficient statistical evidence to conclude that there are more than 20,000 fetal deaths every year.
