Question: With reference to common law, Hague-Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules, discuss the duty of the carrier to carry the goods to the appointed place of destination without deviation.

Objectives: The students should explain that the carrier must provide an extensive discussion as to the duty of carrier not to deviate. The discussion must be based on three different main legal regimes i.e. common law, Hague-Visby Rules and Hamburg Rules. Relevant cases example must also be applied. The students are further expected to cite all the relevant articles from both Rules as to the same issue. Comparison is also expected to be done i.e. by highlighting the major differences and similarities as to the issue.
