Part 2: Coach Harbaugh gives me an impression of subscribing to the Theory Y orientation. He talks a lot about enabling his team to achieve their goals, being there to mentor, and making sure to get everyone involved. These are all characteristics of a Theory Y leader. He does not seem to think that his team would rather be elsewhere, instead believing that they are all there for the shared purpose of winning games and "creating a dynasty." He makes a point of asking his players questions like "Are you happy?" and "What should we do?" in order to foster a feeling of togetherness and involvement that would be shirked by someone with a Theory X mindset as they don't trust the players to know the best way to act in a situation.

Part 3: You can tell immediately that Coach Harbaugh has large amounts of self-confidence. His demeanor in the interview makes it clear that he is comfortable in a leadership position and even thrives there, you can tell he's enjoying his job really easily. You also need extremely high cognitive ability to be the head coach of an NFL football team, as you try to figure out the ways in which to exploit the opposing teams weaknesses and draw out your own teams strengths, all while somebody else across from you is doing the same thing. He also displays honesty and integrity in what he says, talking about backing up his guys and being there for them, as well as admitting that sometimes he has to put things in the hands of his team. To me, this is an honest leader who does not try to take credit where it is not due.

Part 4: Coach Harbaugh puts listening at the forefront of his coaching style, and explains that no matter what he can always ask his players "How's it going?" and "What should we do?" The second question is the perfect question to ask if you are a listening leader. Getting input from your team is paramount to servant leadership as it allows you to understand your team's motives and desires, which in turn makes it easier for you to help them achieve those goals. I think he also sets feasible goals, getting players to work hard to improve and for the team collectively having a high expectation of performance in order to win games.

Part 2: Theory Y

John Harbaugh has a Theory Y approach when it comes to being a leader. He is a true believer in his team no matter what. He is willing to help anyone who needs it. He wants to help others to be their best at all times. He knows players have the creative capacities and the desire to exercise self-direction and self control. John knows that helping everyone to the best of his abilities can lead the team in the right direction.

Part 3: M-Z: Drive, Knowledge of Business.

John Harbaugh takes a huge leadership role when it comes to Drive. He wants everyone to put in a full amount of effort no matter what role they play in. With a full amount of effort they are able to accomplish their goals together as a team. His strong desire of achievement is to win games at a high level. John has a high level of drive because he is always looking to take his team to that next step of greatness. John Harbaugh also has a great Knowledge of Business when it comes to his leadership. He knows what works well for others and what doesn't. John is able to help not only his team but staff and co workers achieve their goals through leadership. Always taking feedback from others asking "what do you think?" By knowing the business better John is in full effort of trying to help build faith, trust and belief.

Part 4: Listening, Inspiring.

John Harbaugh takes a great approach to servant leadership. He wants to help others push themselves to their best abilities. By Listening John takes feedback from others around him and even his team. He recognize the importance of listing and how it can help him become a better leader. Through listing John is able to strength his relationship with others and understand the group needs and wants at times. Another approach of servant leadership demonstrated by John is inspiring. Through trust John can inspire his team and staff to do their best no matter if the odds are against them. By inspiring the team John knows he can push his leadership ability to help others be their best.

2.)Coach Harbaugh demonstrates a Theory Y leadership style with his use of "What do you think?" He seeks the input of his team to make decisions going forward in order to improve. He also looks at himself as someone who is there to help others achieve their goal, yes he gave them that goal, but he lets them work towards it and instead of giving them how to do it let's them make the choice and helps them with it.

3.) Self-Confidence - Coach Harbaugh demonstrates this with his willingness to give up control with individuals and instead help them. He knows he has the expertise they need, and that they can solve the problem themselves just with some help. So instead of doing nothing he actively seeks these situations out.

Cognitive Ability - The coach also knows demonstrates his knowledge of leadership with his presentation of different questions and approaches to find out what the problem is. He's used that along with his expert knowledge to craft his program around the idea of helping the individual based on his ability to accommodate that with his team.

4.) #2 Listening - Coach Harbaugh has excellent listen according to this video, he seeks out the problems of his team members actively and helps them once he understands the problem.

#3 Inspiring - Coach Harbaugh seeks to lift his team up and inspire them to do well individually, but to take that inspiration and drive and turn it into a benefit for the team.
