1. Create or re-write a children's story, fairy tale, nursery rhyme, etc so that it includes probability and counting concepts (permutations with identical elements, combinations, and/or Pascal's Triangle) and principles. The mathematics you introduce in the story must connect to the context of the story, and provide opportunities for decision making on the part of the characters within the story. The mathematics should be complex but keep the story simple. The focus of the assignment is on the mathematics with in the story line. You many want to use diagrams (tree diagrams, Venn diagrams, grid maps, etc) to illustrate the choices to be made. Almost all of the following concepts/principles should be used to describe the decisions that the character(s) are asked to make: - Permutations - Combinations - additive counting principle - multiplicative counting principle - events, sample space, outcomes - complementary events - independent/dependent events - mutually exclusiveon-mutually exclusive events - experimental probability - theoretical probability 2. Write a mathematical summary of your story (solve the math problem in your story)
