Overall, non-verbal cues are considered a vital component of human interactions, and they can be extremely beneficial when used strategically in the workplace or in other situations. Researchers and communicators have found that non-verbal cues can be used to express underlying emotions, intentions, personality, and even messages of deception since such gestures can strongly affect the receiver's perceptions. Non-verbal behavior can also be used to complement vocal messages, to confirm verbal messages or even to replace them. Non-verbal communication has been a significant factor in understanding how humans behave and how humans interpret the world.

Non-verbal behaviour can be divided into three distinct parts: body language, paralinguistics, and proxemics. The theory of body language states that non-verbal behavior is the communication of internal thoughts and feelings through bodily actions, including facial expressions, hand gestures, posture, and tone of voice. Body language is an unconscious way we communicate with one another through gestures and movements that often reveal more than words.

The theory of paralinguistics states that the communication system involving sound and voice is not limited to language use but also includes facial expressions, facial gestures, tone of voice, and posture. Several research studies have shown that non-verbal cues are directly related to our thoughts, feelings, and opinions, as well as how we communicate them. Non-verbal cues have been found to affect decisions on trading activities such as buying and selling stocks in either active or passive investment decisions.

It is common knowledge that email has been the default form of communication in the workplace for decades now. Communication is vital if we want organizations to function effectively; it's time to rethink this old hot potato and see what else we can do instead. There are many ways to communicate in the workplace in the 21st century that do not rely on email. Face-to-face communication, telephone and video conferencing, for example. When you think about it, email is not the most natural medium for communication; it's very slow and impersonal. Email lacks a human element; you cannot gauge someone's voice inflection or body language when exchanging emails. In addition, emails can be easily lost or forgotten.

In conclusion, we should not rely on email as our primary medium of communication any longer. We should start using more efficient methods of communication online and face-to-face if we wish to have a modern organization that functions effectively.
