Questions for War Factories: France

I see two basic issues arising from this video: supply chain and productivity. These can apply to today's current situation.

One, Obviously Germany was experiencing supply chain issues. What economic principles did they fail to follow that led to this problem? We are experiencing supply chain issues. What are the similarities and the differences between the United States in 2021 and Germany in WW II?

Two, Productivity is closely related to labor. Managing a work force was not a strength for Germany. Briefly recap why labor productivity was falling in German occupied areas. Today, we are in the Great Resignation, how is this similar to conditions experienced in WW II Europe and what are major differences? In a related vein, how important are incentives? Which incentives work better at improving productivity and why?
