1. Define both lobbying and advocacy as applied to the Federal government. Describe the range of lobbying and advocacy tools and tactics that can be employed to inform and influence policy makers. Explain when and why these are effective at influencing legislation and regulations.

2. Technology presents the health care sector with great challenges as well as opportunities. This is particularly true in terms of issues ranging from cybersecurity, apps, EHRs/EMRs, to artificial intelligence and machine learning. Briefly address the federal regulatory process and why it is important. Describe how that process is shaping and will shape, the future of these technologies in the health care sector.

a. Be sure to include consideration of the roles and processes of both the Executive Branch in general as well as specific regulatory agencies.

b. Also be sure to include the roles and processes of formal regulation, as well as informal regulation such as guidance and self-regulation.

c. Briefly address how the use of telehealth has been used during the COVID-19 pandemic and whether you think the pandemic telehealth waivers should become permanent and why.
