You are the health care supervisor/manager/leader of a large group of employees. Over the last few months, you notice two of your employees, Joe and Jill have not been getting along. Joe and Jill have been calling each other names and have been raising their voices at each other. You have ignored this up until now. The situation has escalated, and you are afraid one of them will harm the other. Coworkers are starting to complain they are afraid, and they cannot concentrate with the disruptions. When you try to sit them down and talk to them, they are belligerent and tell you to stay out of the situation. They tell you this has nothing to do with work and they will handle it on their own. They get up and leave your office.

7. As the supervisor/manager/leader should you get involved in this situation? Why or why not?

8. Is there anything wrong with Jill and Joe's statement that this has nothing to do with work and they will handle it on their own? If so, what? If no, why not?

9. As the supervisor/manager/leader what should you do now?

10. Is this a violent situation? Why or why not?

11. Is disciplinary action (for Jill and Joe) warranted at this point? If no, why not? If yes, what is your recommended action?
