1) Can you describe the situation and the team? Consider including information such as the problem the team was trying to solve, size of team, team member characteristics, etc.

2) What was your role in the team? Were you clear of your role expectations or had ambiguity of your role?

3) Do you think your team was effective or not? Why? What factors contributed to its effectiveness/ineffectiveness? Any thoughts on how to improve the team's performance?

4) For the experience above, do you think it was necessary to form the team, or it would be better to have the problem resolved by individual work rather than through a team?

Q2. Assume you and another student share a room in a college dormitory. Recently your roommate often stays up very late and speaks loudly over the phone with his/her family abroad. This has disturbed your sleep and you feel tired in the daytime (8 points).

1) Using one of the conflict-handling strategies outlined on Slide 7 in the file of "OB PPT Nov 4" (i.e., forcing, problem-solving, compromising, avoiding, yielding), indicate how you might go about resolving this conflict.

2) Using the example above, identify a number of BATNAs (best alternative to a negotiated agreement) available to you, and then decide whether you should continue share the room with him/her.
