Race and Discipline. The first article is the report on federal data and the second article from the local newspaper about the local (Columbia) data on race and disciplinary referrals.These studies use correlational data to draw relationships between race and discipline versus causational data that shows why the discipline behavior happened. The studies also use comparison tests (t-tests and ANOVA) to compare the discipline rates based on race. What variables did they use? How did they access the data? How did they quantify disciplinary problems? Discuss how this data is meaningful to you as an administrator. What more would you want to know?
