Raphael has approached you for your guidance on meeting the criteria for the Federal Skilled Trades Class. It is Raphael's intent to reside in the Province of British Columbia. He has been working in the capacity of a journeyman carpenter for the last 8 years in Spain after he completed his apprenticeship. He works on average 15 hours per week for six months of the year and sometimes in excess of 30 hours per week for the other six months. His duties have included: interpretation of drawings to define requirements for the projects preparation of the layout for the projects building foundations, subfloors, and framing finishing relating to trim, doors, and moldings Raphael completed his four year apprenticeship after he secured his high school graduation certificate. There are no formal licensing requirements in the area of Spain where Raphael comes from. Raphael took a CELPIP exam in August 2015 with the following results: Speaking 5 . Listening 5 . Reading 5 . Writing 5 Although Raphael has a few leads on job opportunities in the Greater Vancouver as well as the Okanagan Valley, he has not as yet secured a confirmed offer of employment. He has some letters of intent if he is able to secure permanent status but no employer has been willing to confirm an offer through EDSC as they view this as a big hassle. He does however have net assets equal to $45,000 Canadian for resettlement in Canada
