Ray works for a small soft drink company (The company') in Hong Kong which has five staff. His boss, Sally, hates winter as she could not stand the cold weather. Ray proposed to Sally that the company purchase a heater for the office. Sally agreed and authorised Ray to purchase a heater. Ray went to The Oil Fish (`TOF'), which was one of the largest electronics retailers in Hong Kong. A salesperson at TOF, Lisa, recommended an electric heater, Model BBA, to Ray. Lisa told Ray that Model BBA has a fast heating mode that could warm Ray's office' in five minutes. Ray was happy with Model BBA and purchased it. Lisa gave a receipt to Ray and told him that there were some terms and conditions on the receipt. Ray didn't read the receipt and went back to the office.

Two weeks later; the weather turned cold and Susan asked Ray to switch on and use Model BBA. After five minutes, the room temperature decreased and Ray discovered that there was cold air coming out from Model BBA. Ray went back to TOF and asked Lisa for a refund. Lisa said that TOF was not liable for the refund and asked Ray to read the receipt. Ray read the receipt and found a clause, which stated that "No refund will be arranged for any products purchased by customer in The Oil Fish." Advise Ray.
