The writer enjoyed reading through your thoughts and opinions in regards to this weeks discussion board post. The writer completely agrees with what you said regarding the importance of understanding the clients desired outcome from taking part in the therapy process (Winbolt, 2011). The writer can see how this theme can a matter of fact play such an important role in the trajectory of how each session will go as well as the clients progress. Having a counselor constantly encouraging their client to properly articulate their goals as to what it is they wish to achieve, can really help keep a client's mind on track. It'll help both the counselor and the client keep a close eye on achievements being made, big or small. It will help them keep up with how they felt during the achievement, what the achievement was, how it has impacted them and their lives, and so forth. Therefore, consistently focusing on positive changes and solutions to problems as they come about. Which the writer personally feels can really help motivated and encourage each client to keep going despite things being hard at times (Trepper et al., 2010). Part of this process will indeed require the counselor and client to take the time to identify and utilize the clients strengths and available resources in order to get to the finish line. This will help a client become more independent on their journey which is essential for them in order to continue on throughout the entire counseling process. In general, very thought provoking response, it really got the writer thinking about this approach and how she will find herself utilizing it in the future when appropriate.
