The writer appreciates the time and effort put into this weeks discussion board post. The writer agrees that solution focused therapy is a great approach to use based on it being highly goal oriented and placing an emphasis on positivity (Jerome et al., 2023). The writer really likes how this approach emphasizes clients strengths, what they have acheieved, what resources they have access to, and any potential solutions they could use to help solve their problems. The writer also agrees that in order for this approach to be successful, a counselor needs to make sure they incorporate in order for things to run smoothly and progress at the right pace. Or as you phrased it, be as effective as possible. The writer likes the concept behind the miracle question technique. Envisioning a life in which as you were sleeping, your problem was resolved, when you awoke you weren't sure how your problem was solved, but if you thought about it and what might have happened to get you to that position. It allows you to think about what one would have to do in order to find yourself in a place where you problem is actually solved. It also helps one think outside of the box, think positively and optimistic, as well as put plans into action and take the steps necessary to make improvements. The writer plans on using scaling questions in counseling sessions in the future because of the known effects it has on clients. It allows one to self reflect as to where they feel they are at in the present moment, and what it would take for them to become their prefered version of themselves. It's a great technique to use and document to monitor one's progress throughout the entire process. In general, great response and the writer can't wait to hear more from you.
