The role technology plays in the customer buying experience is essential. The buying experience has changed greatly over the last 2 years during this pandemic. Businesses have had change how the customer makes purchases to be able to stay in business. We have seen a great deal of businesses that have developed news and easier ways to shop online, in stores, and some have created drive up pickup locations. The advances in technology have offered more designs to appeal to the consumer and have been strategically designed to make customers want to purchase more. I saw a video of how McDonalds is offering inside ordering stations where you walkup and order from a board and pay and then head to the counter to pickup food. Technology is meant to create a convenience for the consumer and to give them a desire to return and spend more time and money on their businesss product. Businesses use this technological power to design their product around certain sexes, cultures, age groups, and situations. Online services are designed with all these factors in mind. By including these options, you are setting a stage for more product selection and sells. Since the pandemic I have probably been inside an actual mall maybe 4 times. I have now grown more accustomed to purchasing online and I feel that the online web store design has gotten easier to use and there are more options for me the consumer. I still love to go to the mall because I enjoy the smells of the perfume counter and the makeup area. Technology is great, but the customer experience needs to be a given. As a consumer I want to be able to make a purchase with less trouble and little thought. Technology offers us Apps for stores that automatically allow us to save items to our cart, it saves our banking information for easy access to our wallet, and the store coupons are easily obtainable. Business have had to rearrange how they deal with consumers to maintain their profits and by designing new products to use and understanding the needs and wants of the consumers, we have had more technological advances in the buying power of for todays shoppers. Its almost like Burger King we can have it our way.
